Definition

   ① 적혈구 수가 증가하는 idiopathic hematologic disorder
   ② erythropoietin 같은 조절 호르몬과는 연관 없이 single progenitor marrow stem cell 이
       비정상적으로 행동을 보여서 적혈구가 과잉 생산됨

Clinical Feature

   ① 노인층에 호발, 60세
   ② 성별에 상관없이 나타남
   ③ initial symtom
       headach, weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, visual disturbances, sweating, weight loss,    
          dyspnea, epigastric pain
   ④ itching
   ⑤ 혈전형성에 이상을 보임
        → myocardiac infaction, hypertention, splenomegaly
   ⑥ erythromegaly
   ⑦ painful burning sensation
   ⑧ 과도한 출혈, 치은 출혈

Treatmaent & Prognosis

   ① 적혈구 수를 감소시켜야 함
   ② first Tx : 정맥절개 + 하루에 500ml 이상 혈액 빼냄
   ③ antihistamin
   ④ myelosuppresive therapy
   ⑤ 예후는 좋지 않음
