Definition

  -종양과 같은 덩어리가 cutaneous focal mucinosis 또는cutaneous myxoid cyst와 짝을 이루어
    구강에 나타남
  -원인 : fibroblast에 의한 hyaluronic acid의 과생산

Clinical  Feature

  -젊은 층에 호발
  -여성:남성=2:1로 여성에 호발  
  -호발부위; 치은, 경구개
  -고착성, 무통의 결정상의 덩어리
  -표면에 궤양이 없음
  -크기는 다양(㎜내지 2㎝의 직경)

Histopathologic Features

  -잘 분화되고, non-encapsulated
  -myxomatous connective tissue
  -병소는 surface epithelium의 하방에 위치
  -fibroblast는 ovoid, fusiform, sielate형태
  -점액성 산물은 hyaluronic acid

Treatment and prognosis

  -외과적 제거
  -재발하지 않음
